This tasty salad has all our favourite green vegetables.
Ingredients:
- 1 small broccoli, cut into florets
- 100g sugar snap peas, trimmed
- 2/3 cup fresh or frozen peas
- 1/2 telegraph cucumber, cut into large cubes
- 1 avocado, diced
- 150g tub mixed salad sprout combo (available at Nakumatt Stores)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves
- 1/4 cup finely chopped mint leaves
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 100ml olive oil
- 3 tbs mixed salad seeds* (such as sunflower, sesame and pepita)
- 100g feta, crumbled
Method:
Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2-3 minutes and the sugar snap peas and fresh or frozen peas for 1-2 minutes. Drain, refresh in cold water and drain again.
Place the blanched vegetables in a bowl with the cucumber, avocado, sprouts, parsley and mint. Whisk the juice and oil in a bowl, then season and toss through the salad with the salad seeds. Top with crumbled feta.

Aside from Deviled Eggs or Egg Salad – anyone have other suggestions?
They haven’t been left out.

I am going to a friend’s house for Easter. They said I can bring a few sides if I would like, but I have no clue of what to take. They are suppose to be fixing ham and baked beans. I cannot for the life of me think of anything to go with that. Normally I would fix peas/carrots and maybe even deviled-eggs with the ham, but those don’t sound real appetizing with baked beans. Help!

Is it time to toss the left over Easter Eggs or can we eat them for a few more days? We never hide the real eggs so we don’t loose any in the house. Makes a fun art project anyway.

Are the parties fairly exclusive? I’ve been invited to Passover and Ramadan but never an Easter meal. Are non-Christians excluded to keep it pure?

On Easter Sunday someone brought over a salad that had mixed greens, red onions, walnuts, strawberries and blueberries in it with some sort of dressing on it. It was delicious and the kids ate two helpings of it.
I have tried to find a recipe for it and I cannot.
do you have any recipes which would be similar to that?

I got this recipe from another users question and think it sounds pretty good, but I need to know what wine to serve with it. My date preferres a very “wet” (meaning sweet) wine. I am lost like last years Easter eggs on this one. so what wine will suit her and compliment the artichoke hearts and tomatoes and shrimp in the main course?
she didn’t reguest wine and I am partial to sweet Tea…leaning toward the Chianti

Our family loves having non-traditional meals for the Holidays except for Christmas. We chose potato dishes for Easter. It needs to be enough for 25 people and it can’t be potato salad, scallops, soup or baked potatoes because these dishes have already been chosen. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
All of the recipes sound heavenly! I really appreciate your sharing these with me.

We have thought of a lasagna and large meatballs, and maybe an antipasto salad, but what other things could be served without overdoing the Italian theme?
Also, if you have any recipes to offer with your ideas, please add them! Any ideas would be appreciated.

I am planning on making apple snickers salad for an Easter dinner on my bf side of the family, but we are having breakfast with my family and going to sunrise service, and I don’t know if I have time to make it that day. Because of the apples i am wondering if it will still be good for lunch on Sunday if I make it Sat. night?

The recipe has apples, snickers bars, cream cheese and cool whip. I looked on foodnetwork.com and allrecipes.com and came up empty. Thanks! I want to make it for Sunday. Happy Easter!

Include the recipe if you would. I’m in the mood to cook and seeing as how easter is approaching seems like a good fit.

I’m going to have a few dozen hard-boiled eggs to use – what are some good recipes for deviled-eggs or potato/macaroni salad with hard boiled eggs in them? I’m not a great cook, so does anyone have any simple recipes?

I’m going over my moms house and we are cooking baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, dressing, and a nice garden salad. For dessert we are having rum cake.
