Easy Microwave Chocolate Cake

2013-02-28

“This is a quick and easy chocolate cake you can cook in the microwave in 2 minutes. And it tastes great. Really! The consistency is dense and cakey. It would go well with chocolate (or your favorite) chips, nuts, or served warm with hot fudge.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

Method:

  1. Spray a medium microwave-safe bowl with non-stick spray and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and milk; blend together. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt; blend into the mixture until smooth. Pour into greased bowl.
  2. Cover and cook in the microwave on high for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched. Since all microwaves cook differently, adjust the cooking time to accommodate your machine. To serve, let the cake cool five minutes, then cover the bowl with a plate and turn both bowl and plate upside down so the cake falls onto the plate.

I am hosting a party for a friend of mine, and I need to know how to make a chocolate ganache. Can somebody give me directions on how to make a chocolate ganache? Is it possible to use milk chocolate? What about dark chocolate? White chocolate would be nice as well.

I’m looking for a good, fairly simple cake recipe to prepare for a birthday that is coming up this week. Preferably chocolate, but any kind of cake will do. Just no carrot cake or banana flavor cake or whatnot, please. Also, I’d like to avoid using shortening if possible. I only have a 9×13 pan, but I could possibly get an 8×8 if necessary. So a recipe that yields in one of those two, please! Thank you soo much!

Back in the 90′s, the books a million in Bossier City, LA had a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing that was amazing. Since then, the lady who made it for them has passed away and I cannot remember what it was called, so I can make it. Does anyone have an idea what the actual name could be?

I recently frosted a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. The frosting got all mixed up with the cake crumbs, making the frosting look like it was cookies and cream. I have tried doing a crumb coat before, but that doesn’t really work for me. Does anyone have any frosting tips? Thanks!

I am using fondant and it seems too heavy for a regular moist cake mix. I also want to use different flavors, like spice cake and don’t want to try to make them homemade. Thanks for any help.

I don’t have an oven, and I miss making cake. Does anyone have a recipe for a layer cake? Or does anyone know if cake mixes can be microwaved and how? Thanks.

You know, like a clear thin glaze like a donut glaze but I’m putting it on a cake because there isn’t gonna be an actual icing, so I still wanted something to coat it and be sweet.
do i need 2 add heat?
