People have strong opinions about the Monte Cristo sandwich, a double-decker of Swiss cheese, ham, and chicken or turkey, battered, fried, and dusted with confectioners’ sugar, served with jelly on the side.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup milk
2 eggs
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
5 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
6 pieces thinly sliced white bread
4 thin slices cooked turkey
4 thin slices cooked ham
4 thin slices Swiss cheese
Confectioners’ sugar, to garnish
Red currant jelly, for serving
Method:
1. Lightly beat milk and eggs in a shallow bowl. Season with salt and pepper and set aside. For each sandwich, lightly butter 3 slices of bread on both sides (using about ½ tbsp. of butter for each sandwich). Place 2 slices each of turkey and ham between 2 slices of bread. Top each with 2 slices of cheese, and then top with third slice of buttered bread. Trim crusts, secure with toothpicks, and cut in half on the diagonal.
2. Melt 2 tbsp. butter in a 12″ nonstick skillet over medium heat. Dip sandwich halves in milk mixture to coat. When butter foams, place sandwiches in skillet and fry until golden brown on bottom, about 2 minutes. Add remaining 2 tbsp. butter to skillet, turn sandwiches, and fry until browned on other side, about 2 minutes more. Transfer to plates, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar, and serve with jelly.

I want to know some books about getting revenge. I’ve been watching the show Revenge and it reminded me of why I loved the book “The Count of Monte Cristo” so much. I’ve read one similar book. “Airman” by Eoin Colfer.

How much is a Monte Cristo cigar cost in Canada. I live near Toronto, and a friend told me there are two sizes or something? There are small ones and bigger ones? Can someone please explain the whole thing to me?

For some odd reason, the file STDMATDX8.FX under Medieval Lords/BIN/DATA/SHADER has completely dissapeared. Without this file, the game will not load beyond the initial load screen. How am i supposed to retrieve this file? I cannot seem to find any customer support at the Monte Cristo website for this game, and the disk is not damaged. If it may help, im running on Vista, but the file was missing before i downloaded the Vista patch.

I have read the Count of Monte Cristo, seen both the movies, and have seen the T.V. show and have loved them all. But now that there is nothing left for that I was just wondering if their is any book or story about revenge that even comes close to being as good as the Count of Monte Cristo? If so I would like to know, because I want to read it or watch it.

We used to see Monte Cristos on restaurant menus all of the time. I rarely see them anymore. If anyone has a good recipe for one, or knows some tips to recreating a restaurant version, I’d love to know..thanks!

I have the Counte of Monte Cristo Audiobook (Unabridged), but I don’t have time to finish it. What are the chapter names in the abridged version, so I can listen to only those chapters.
