Potato, Carrot and Sweetcorn (6-9 Month Baby)

Nuvita Biscuits

For young babies, it is best to puree sweetcorn through a mouli as it will be easier to digest and have a smoother texture.

25g (1oz) unsalted butter
50g (2oz) onion, peeled and chopped
175g (6oz) carrots, peeled and chopped
200g (7oz) potatoes, peeled and chopped
250ml (9fl oz) Vegetable Stock or water
50g (2oz) tinned or frozen sweetcorn
1 – 2 tbsp milk

Melt the butter in a pan and saute the onion for 1 minute. Add the carrots and saute for 5 minutes.

Tip in the potatoes, cover with the stock or water and cook over a medium heat for 15 minutes.

Add the sweetcorn and continue to cook for 5 minutes.

Puree through a mouli and stir in the milk to make the right consistency for your baby.

I am making lemon bars. I went to the store and bought a few things. I needed unsalted butter and accidently grabbed “unsalted sweet butter.” It’s so stupid. Not sure why the “sweet” part couldn’t be the same font size as the “unsalted” and “butter” The word “sweet” was so small I obviously didn’t notice and grabbed it. The recipe calls for 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Should I go back and return the butter or will I be fine?? What’s the difference?

I’m baking banana cupcakes and the recipe asks for sweet butter; however, I only have unsalted butter. Is there a difference?

i have unsalted but i need regular. Well, i mean the recipe calls for butter so could i use unsalted butter?

and how much salt should i add for how much butter?

I mean, there’s one less ingredient and one less process. You’d have thought it would be cheaper. And just how much salt is there in butter? I want to know how much of my daily salt I would be cutting down on if I changed to unsalted butter.

Hi guys, I am new to cooking so I’ve been looking at a few recipes. I’m not sure how to cook with unsalted butter. For instance, when a recipe says to spread butter on a dish before baking, are they talking about salted or unsalted butter? Also, when making scrambled eggs, when I grease the pan first, do I use unsalted butter for that? Or salted? Also, for scrambled eggs, is it possible if I use “i can’t believe it’s not butter” to grease my pan? Thanks guys for your help on such a silly question.

I planted roly poly carrots a little while ago and they look like they might be ready for harvesting soon. Once i pull them out what do i do next to continue growing carrots?
