Shrewsberry Biscuits & Pistachio and Almond Biscuits

Nuvita Biscuits

Shrewsberry Biscuits

  • 700g flour
  • 320g icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 400g margarine

  • Cream the margarine and icing sugar well. Add egg and mix again. Add flour and mix well. Put the mixture on a flat surface and roll out into a thick chapati. Cut the chapati with a punch and bake at 160°C for 25 to 30 minutes till done.

Pistachio and Almond Biscuits

  • 1kg flour
  • 500g icing sugar
  • 50g almonds, sliced
  • 50g pistachio, sliced
  • 25g milk powder
  • 25g custard powder
  • 3g baking powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • A few drops almond essence
  • A little lemon yellow colour
  • 500g margarine

  • Mix milk powder, custard powder, icing sugar, margarine, cardamom powder and almond essence in a mixer till well blended. Slowly add four eggs, one at a time. When all the ingredients are mixed properly, gradually add the flour, a little at a time.
  • Beat the remaining egg till stiff. Put the mixture on a flat surface and roll out into a ½ cm thick chapatti or of desired thickness. Apply a thin layer of the beaten egg over the chapati and sprinkle finely sliced almonds and pistachios over it. The nuts will stick on the surface because of the egg solution. Cut the chapati into desired shapes. Bake the biscuits at 175°C for 20-25 minutes or till done.

I have been trying to find this recipe for a while, but no success. I even tried to do the search in Italian, but the problem is the photos do not match what I am looking for, although it looks similar.
That should be a recipe for a cake with two biscuit layers like in the photos you get by doing a simple photo search.
    Thank you :)
