I’m making a spanish dish and I would like to know if I can substitute the green bell peppers it calls for with red bell peppers?

A recipe where there is tri-color rotini pasta, sliced black olives, finely cubed red bell pepper that IS NOT mayonnaise/salad spread based.
Thanks, Ana A!! The first recipe sounds just like what I’m looking for!
All others… thank you for your input. Ana A’s answer is more like the obvious answer to my question.
