Green Gram & Mushroom Burger
Vegetable burgers are often considered boring. This green gram and mushroom burger is nothing close to that ordinary burger. It is meaty and delicious and holds its shape very well. This burger is a must-have!
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 cup mushrooms, roughly chopped
1 cup parsley, roughly chopped
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup oats
1 cup Daawat Green Grams, soaked and boiled
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
3/4 tsp chili powder (optional)
Oil for shallow frying
4 Burger Buns
Mayonnaise (as required)
Lettuce (as required)
Instructions
1
Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
2
Add mushrooms and parsley and season with salt and pepper. Toss and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the mushrooms are soft.
3
In a bowl, add the mushroom mixture, oats, green grams, sauces and chili powder. Season with salt and pepper and mash it up using a potato masher.
4
Divide the mixture into 4 parts and form round patties. Shallow fry for 2 minutes on each side.
5
Assemble your burger. Toast the burger buns, add a layer of mayonnaise, followed by some lettuce and the patty.

Hi Cynthia, I’m sure you will be able to find it in the grocery section in most supermarkets around you. If not, you can substitute with kidney beans maybe?
